W-5 – Water Detection Test Kit

Rapid field water screening

Check gasoline, diesel fuel and biodiesel blends for free and suspended water using a qualitative colour reaction. The supplied jar also supports visual clarity inspection.

Specifications and kit contents

• Tests per kit: up to 5 single-use water checks. One capsule is used for each water check.
• Result time: less than 1 minute.
• Contents: 4 test tubes with capsules, 1 clarity jar with capsule and 1 transfer pipette.
• Compatible fuels: gasoline, diesel fuel and biodiesel blends.
• Result: qualitative PASS/FAIL; detection depends on the fuel blend.

How to use

Remove the capsule before adding fuel. Open it only when ready to test; moisture from the air can cause a false reading. Follow the supplied instructions for the chosen test container, sampling, approximately three-quarter fill and a 5-second shake. Let the powder settle and inspect its colour. Pink indicates a water reaction. For red-dyed fuel, use the specific reading instructions in the official product PDF.

Understanding the result

Use W-5’s own PASS/FAIL guidance. It does not measure dissolved water or provide a precise laboratory water concentration. A white reaction is not proof of absolutely zero water. A positive result supports investigation and maintenance decisions.

How many tests does one kit provide?

Up to 5 water checks, from the five supplied capsules. Each capsule is single-use. Count separate sampling locations and retests separately; container reuse does not replenish the reagent.
